The Government of the Punjab – Agriculture Department has opened contract vacancies under the development project “Agricultural Farm Mechanization Project” in the office of the Additional Director General, Agricultural Mechanization Research Institute (AMRI), Multan. Positions announced are: CNC Machine Operator (PPS-5), Welder (PPS-5), Tractor Operator (PPS-4), Driver/Crane/Machine Operator (PPS-4) and Office Boy (PPS-2). Most posts are based in Multan, with one Office Boy post in Lahore. Appointments are project-based, initially for one year, extendable annually on performance, with the project tenure running up to June 2028. AMRI Multan is the flagship technical arm of the Agriculture Department, Government of the Punjab, tasked with applied research, design, adaptation, and testing of farm machinery suited to local cropping systems. From seedbed preparation to harvesting and postharvest handling, AMRI’s teams collaborate with universities, manufacturers, and farmers to deliver cost-effective, locally manufacturable equipment that boosts productivity and reduces drudgery.

CNC Machine Operator (PPS-5)

You’ll set up and run CNC lathes/mills for prototype parts, jigs, and fixtures. Your day includes program edits, offsets, and preventive maintenance. Familiarity with CAD/CAM (AutoCAD, Fusion 360, SolidWorks) is required to interpret drawings and generate reliable toolpaths. Success in this role shows up as tight tolerances, low scrap, and machine uptime. Experience with steels, aluminum, and agricultural-grade materials is preferred.

Welder (PPS-5)

You’ll fabricate frames, hitches, guards, tanks, and attachments for farm implements. The role suits welders who can read drawings, perform MIG/TIG/Arc processes, and ensure distortion control and weld quality. Experience in jig design and fit-up will help you excel. Farm-implement exposure is a plus because many builds require ruggedization for dusty, high-load field conditions.

Tractor Operator (PPS-4)

From transporting implements to demonstrating field operations (ploughing, seeding, spraying), you’ll keep tractors in safe working order: fluid checks, tire pressure, greasing points, and daily logs. Field discipline—safe turning, PTO safety, and hitching—is essential. Expect seasonal field trials across crop stages.

4) Driver / Crane / Machine Operator (PPS-4)

You’ll operate HTV for material transport and assist with crane/machine operations in the yard and workshop. The role demands precise signal/hand communication, rigging basics, and adherence to load charts. Record-keeping (logbooks, fuel slips) and defensive driving are standard.

5) Office Boy (PPS-2) – Lahore

You’ll support office routines—dispatches, photocopying, filing assistance, tea/refreshments, and general upkeep—ensuring a clean, hospitable environment. Experience in government office protocols is preferred.

Contract Terms & Merit Policy ✅

Tenure: Initial one (01) year, extendable annually based on performance and project need until June 2028.

Merit & selection: Recruitment will be made strictly on merit according to project selection criteria and Government of the Punjab’s Contract Appointment Policy, 2004 (as amended) and relevant notifications.

Equivalence: For O/A-Level or non-traditional qualifications, attach equivalence issued by HEC/competent forum.

Government employees: Apply through proper channel with NOC; originals will be checked at interview.
